György László Velkey

György László Velkey is a Hungarian politician, sociologist, and literary historian currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly for the Tisza Party. Elected in 2026 to represent Budapest's 6th constituency, he also serves as a deputy faction leader and a state secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his political career, he held various academic and administrative roles, including program director at the Ludovika Collegium and positions at the National University of Public Service and the National Széchényi Library. He holds a PhD in literary studies from Pázmány Péter Catholic University.
