Haim Katz is an Israeli politician currently serving as the Minister of Health and Minister of Construction and Housing. Born in Germany in 1947, he emigrated to Israel in 1949 and began his career as an electronics technician at Israel Aerospace Industries, where he became a prominent trade union leader. Katz entered the Knesset in 1999, representing the One Nation party before joining Likud in 2003. Throughout his long parliamentary career, he has held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Tourism and Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Services. Known for his influence within the Histadrut labor federation, he has been a central figure in Israeli labor and social policy for decades.
