Hazel Mbele

Hazel Htombenhle Mbele is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the uMkhonto weSizwe Party. Elected in the 2024 general election and sworn into office in June 2024, she has held various committee assignments, including the Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour and the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development. Mbele is known for her advocacy regarding social issues, notably calling for the government to declare the statutory rape of young girls a national emergency rather than merely a subject for parliamentary debate.
