Hilary Calvert

Hilary Calvert is a New Zealand politician and lawyer currently serving as the Chair of the Otago Regional Council. Previously, she served as a Member of Parliament for the ACT Party from 2010 to 2011 and as a Dunedin City Councillor from 2013 to 2016. A former property lawyer, Calvert has been a prominent figure in local government, focusing on fiscal conservatism and regional governance. She was re-elected to the Otago Regional Council in 2025 on the Vision Otago ticket and subsequently appointed as its chairperson, where she has advocated for zero-rate increases and the protection of regional assets.
