Hristijan Mickoski is a Macedonian politician and university professor who has served as the Prime Minister of North Macedonia since June 2024. A mechanical engineer by training, he previously led the state-owned electricity company Power Plants of Macedonia and served as an energy advisor to former prime ministers. Since 2017, he has led the nationalist party VMRO-DPMNE, positioning himself as a critic of the Prespa Agreement and the constitutional changes required for EU accession. His government focuses on economic development, infrastructure projects, and a skeptical stance toward current EU negotiation requirements.
