Ian Byrne is a British Labour politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Liverpool West Derby since 2019. Before entering national politics, he worked as a taxi driver and trade union organiser, and co-founded the community initiative Fans Supporting Foodbanks. A member of the Socialist Campaign Group, Byrne is known for his advocacy on food insecurity and workers' rights, including his campaign to write the 'Right to Food' into UK law. He previously served as a councillor for the Everton ward on Liverpool City Council from 2018 to 2022.
