Ian Mackey is an American politician serving as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives, currently representing the 99th House district in St. Louis County. First elected to the state legislature in 2018 to represent the 87th district, he has since been re-elected to serve the newly redistricted 99th district. An openly gay lawmaker, Mackey gained national attention in 2022 for a viral floor speech in which he criticized legislation aimed at banning transgender students from participating in youth sports. Before his political career, he worked in early childhood education and earned a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.
