Takumi Ihara is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. His extensive political career includes serving as a member of the House of Councillors, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and three terms as the mayor of Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture. A graduate of Senshu University, he began his career as a secretary to a Diet member before entering local politics. Ihara is known for his conservative policy stances, including support for the revision of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and the maintenance of the death penalty.
