Jakob Forssmed is a Swedish politician who has served as the Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health in the cabinet of Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson since October 2022. A prominent member of the Christian Democrats, he has been a member of the Riksdag since 2014 and has served as the party's first deputy leader since 2015. Prior to his current ministerial role, Forssmed held the position of state secretary in the coordination unit of the Prime Minister's Office during the cabinet of Fredrik Reinfeldt from 2006 to 2014. He also previously served as the chairman of the Young Christian Democrats from 2001 to 2004.
