James Eldridge is an American politician and lawyer serving as a member of the Massachusetts Senate representing the Middlesex and Worcester District. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served three terms in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Throughout his legislative career, Eldridge has been a vocal advocate for economic justice, environmental protection, and single-payer healthcare. He is noted for being the first official in Massachusetts history to be elected as a Clean Elections candidate. Before entering public office, he worked as a public interest lawyer providing legal services to the poor and elderly.
