Janie Lopez is an American politician serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for the 37th district. Elected in 2022, she made history as the first Latina Republican to represent the Rio Grande Valley in the Texas House. Prior to her legislative service, she was a trustee on the San Benito school board. Lopez is guided by her Christian values and has publicly supported term limits for members of Congress. Her district encompasses Willacy County and portions of Cameron County.
