Janusz Chwierut

Janusz Chwierut is a Polish politician and economist who has served as the Mayor of Oświęcim since 2011. An alumnus of the Krakow University of Economics, he began his political career in local government, serving as a city councilor and member of the Oświęcim district council. He previously served as a member of the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament, representing the Civic Platform party from 2005 to 2011. Since assuming the role of mayor, he has been re-elected multiple times, continuing his long-standing commitment to local governance in the region.
