Jaroslav Baška is a Slovak politician who has served as the Governor of the Trenčín Region since 2013. A long-standing member of the National Council of Slovakia since 2002, he previously held national office as the Minister of Defence from 2008 to 2010 and as a State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence. Before entering national politics, he served as the mayor of the village of Dohňany. Baška holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Žilina and worked in the manufacturing sector prior to his political career.
