Javier Olivares

Javier Olivares Avendaño is a Chilean politician, journalist, and former television presenter. Born in Santiago, he began his media career as a teenager and gained national prominence as a host for youth programs such as Tremendo Choque and Mekano. He later worked as a journalist and news anchor in the United States for networks including Telemundo and Univisión. In 2025, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing District 6. Olivares is known for his anti-communist political stance and his critical views of the political left.
