Jayanarayan Mishra

Jayanarayan Mishra is an Indian politician from Odisha and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). First elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from the Sambalpur constituency in 2000, he has served five terms as an MLA. During his career, he has held significant roles, including Minister of Commerce and Transport and Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly. Known for his vocal stance on regional identity, he has recently faced controversy regarding his remarks on the state song and the historical merger of the Koshal region with Odisha.
