A member of the Labor Left faction, she currently holds the position of Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, having previously served as Minister for Emergency Management and Minister for Cities. Before entering federal parliament, she was the National President of the Australian Labor Party and worked in the private sector as a strategic advisor and technical director in infrastructure and water management.
