Jere Penttilä

Jere Penttilä is a Finnish municipal administrator currently serving as the Mayor of Joensuu, a position he assumed in November 2023. Prior to his current role, he held various leadership positions in the Finnish public sector, including serving as the Mayor of Riihimäki and the municipal manager of Kontiolahti and Pyhäselkä. He also gained experience in the private sector as a regional director for Kesko in Eastern Finland. Penttilä holds a Master of Social Sciences degree and is a former professional football player who competed in the Finnish premier league.
