Jerrold Nadler is an American politician and lawyer serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 12th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, he has represented various New York districts in the House since 1992 and currently serves as the dean of New York's congressional delegation. Before his federal career, he served eight terms in the New York State Assembly. Known for his liberal record, Nadler has been a prominent figure in judiciary and transportation policy, having chaired the House Judiciary Committee from 2019 to 2023 and acting as an impeachment manager during the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump. He has announced he will not seek reelection in 2026.
