Hanako Jimi is a Japanese politician and physician serving as a member of the House of Councillors. Born in Sasebo, Nagasaki, she graduated from Tokai University's School of Medicine and worked as a pediatrician before entering politics. She has held several government positions, including Minister of State for Special Missions (responsible for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs, Consumer Affairs and Food Safety, Regional Revitalization, and Ainu Policy) and Minister for the World Expo. Throughout her career, she has focused on healthcare policy, including the promotion of the Child Health and Development Act, the establishment of the Children and Families Agency, and the expansion of HPV vaccination programs.
