First elected in 2015, he represents the Conservative Party of Canada and identifies as a progressive conservative. Prior to his federal career, he served as a municipal councillor in Saint-Joachim, Quebec. In 2025, he was elected as the vice chair of the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Official Languages during the 45th Canadian Parliament.
