Joël Lightbound

Joël Lightbound is a Canadian politician serving as the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Services and Procurement and the Quebec lieutenant. First elected to the House of Commons in 2015 representing Louis-Hébert, he is a member of the Liberal Party. A lawyer by training, Lightbound previously practiced in Quebec City specializing in immigration law. Throughout his tenure, he has occasionally broken ranks with his party, notably criticizing pandemic-era policies in 2022 and supporting a resolution to abolish the Canadian monarchy.
