Joe McGirr is an Australian independent politician and physician who has served as the Member for Wagga Wagga in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly since 2018. Before entering politics, he worked as a physician and served as an associate dean at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Coming from a prominent political family, he is the grandson of former Labor politician Greg McGirr and the great-nephew of former New South Wales Premier James McGirr. He was first elected in a 2018 by-election and has since been re-elected in 2019 and 2023.
