Joseph Rafferty Jr. is an American educator, football coach, and Democratic politician currently serving as a member of the Maine Senate representing District 34. Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, he spent four decades as a teacher and head football coach at Kennebunk High School, where he was also active in teachers' union negotiations. First elected to the Maine Senate in 2020, Rafferty has chaired the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and focuses on education policy and community advocacy.
