Jon Heese is a Japanese politician of Canadian origin who currently serves as a member of the Ibaraki Prefectural Assembly. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1963, he moved to Japan in 1991 and became a naturalized Japanese citizen in 2007. Before his election to the prefectural assembly in 2022, he served four terms as a member of the Tsukuba City Council, where he was first elected in 2008. In addition to his political career, he has worked as an English conversation teacher and appeared in several Japanese films.
