Joseph Djogbenou

Joseph Djogbenou is a Beninese politician, lawyer, and academic who serves as the President of the National Assembly of Benin. Born in Abomey, he has had a prominent career in legal scholarship, serving as a professor at the University of Abomey-Calavi and heading the Centre for Research and Study in Law and Judicial Institutions in Africa. He previously served as Minister of Justice and as President of the Constitutional Court of Benin before being elected to the National Assembly and assuming the presidency of the legislature in February 2026.
