Joseph Lekuton

Joseph Lemasolai Lekuton is a Kenyan politician and educator currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly representing Laisamis Constituency. Born in Karare, Kenya, he pursued higher education in the United States, earning degrees from St. Lawrence University and Harvard University. Lekuton is a noted advocate for nomadic education, having founded the Nomadic Kenyan Children Education Fund and the Boma Fund. He is also an author, known for his memoir 'Facing the Lion: Growing Up Maasai in the African Savanna'. In 2015, he was awarded the Chief of Burning Spear, First Class, by the President of Kenya for his contributions to community development and education.
