Josh Turek is an American politician and professional wheelchair basketball player serving as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives for the 20th district. A self-described "prairie populist" and moderate Democrat, he was first elected in 2022 and has focused his legislative tenure on disability policy, health care, and agricultural issues, including successful right-to-repair legislation. Before entering politics, Turek enjoyed a distinguished athletic career, winning gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics as a member of the United States men's national wheelchair basketball team. He is currently a candidate for the United States Senate in the 2026 election.
