Kahurangi Carter

Kahurangi Carter is a New Zealand politician who has served as a Member of Parliament since the 2023 general election. Of Ngāti Maniapoto and Tainui descent, she previously worked for the Ministry for the Environment and as an actor. A dedicated zero-waste advocate, Carter holds several spokesperson portfolios for the Green Party, including Children, Disability Issues, and Arts, Culture and Heritage. Her legislative priorities include housing protections, wage increases, and public transport, alongside a focus on criminal justice reform through proposed Good Samaritan laws.
