Kevin Hertel

Kevin Hertel is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan Senate, representing the 12th district since January 2023. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022, representing the 18th district. A graduate of Michigan State University, Hertel previously worked as a legislative analyst and special assistant at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He comes from a prominent political family, as the son of former House Speaker Curtis Hertel and brother of State Senator Curtis Hertel Jr.
