Khairul Saleh is an Indonesian politician and the current Sultan of Banjar, holding the regnal name al-Mu'tashim Billah. He has served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia since 2019, representing the South Kalimantan I electoral district. Previously, he served as the Regent of Banjar for two terms from 2005 to 2015. A civil engineer by training, he began his career in the public works department of Banjarmasin before entering politics. He is also known for his leadership in various social and academic organizations, including the Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI).
