Kim Thatcher

Kim Thatcher is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Oregon State Senate for the 11th district. First elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 2004, she served there until 2015 before transitioning to the state senate. Throughout her legislative career, Thatcher has been a prominent advocate for government transparency, sponsoring multiple bills to expand state transparency websites. A member of the Republican Party, she has participated in legislative walkouts and has been a vocal critic of various state policies. Following her participation in a 2023 walkout, the Oregon Supreme Court ruled that she is disqualified from seeking re-election after her current term concludes in 2027.
