Jiro Kimura is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Fujisaki, Aomori, he graduated from Chuo University and previously worked for the Aomori Prefectural Government. He was first elected to the Diet in 2017 following the death of his brother, Taro Kimura. Throughout his career, he has held positions such as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense. Kimura is a proponent of constitutional reform, the strengthening of Japan's defense capabilities, and the continued use of nuclear power. He has faced controversy regarding his involvement in the Liberal Democratic Party's political funding scandal and allegations of workplace harassment toward a former secretary.
