Koichiro Kobayashi is a Japanese politician and physician currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Okayama Prefecture constituency. Born in Fukuyama, Hiroshima, he graduated from the Okayama University School of Medicine and previously worked as an internal medicine physician. Before his election to the national legislature in 2025, he served three terms as a member of the Okayama Prefectural Assembly, having been first elected in 2011. He also ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2021 before securing his current position in the upper house.
