Kostas Peletidis

Kostas Peletidis is a Greek politician and cardiologist who has served as the Mayor of Patras since 2014. Born in the village of Ryaki in 1953, he studied medicine in Italy and practiced as a cardiologist before entering local politics. A member of the Communist Party of Greece, he has been re-elected multiple times, most recently securing a third term in 2023. Peletidis is known for his strong political stance, including his public opposition to the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn, which led to legal challenges that were ultimately dismissed by the courts.
