Before his election as mayor, he was a long-time city councilor, first elected in 2002. He holds a degree from the Mazovian Higher School of Humanities and Pedagogy in Łowicz and has been active in local community organizations. In 2020, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his contributions to local government.
