Lalu Muhamad Iqbal is an Indonesian politician and former career diplomat who has served as the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara since February 2025. Before entering politics, he spent over two decades in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding key positions including Ambassador to Turkey and spokesperson for the Ministry. He holds a Ph.D. in politics from the University of Bucharest and has extensive experience in international relations. Iqbal successfully campaigned for the governorship in 2024 with the support of the Gerindra Party and a coalition of political parties.
