Previously, he served as the representative for District 2 starting in 2013 and held the office of mayor of Magnolia, Arkansas, from 1995 to 2010. A member of the Republican Party, Jean has chaired the Joint Budget Committee and has been a vocal proponent of conservative policies, including restrictions on abortion and stricter voting identification requirements. Outside of his legislative career, he is involved in the cattle, timber, and real estate industries.
