Lasalle Ishii is a Japanese politician, television personality, actor, and stage director currently serving as a Member of the House of Councillors for the Social Democratic Party. Before entering politics, he gained widespread recognition as a comedian, notably as a member of the group Konto Akashingo, and as the voice actor for Ryotsu Kankichi in the long-running anime series 'Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo'. Ishii has also had a prolific career as a stage director and scriptwriter. He was elected to the House of Councillors in July 2025 and subsequently assumed leadership roles within the Social Democratic Party, including serving as Secretary-General. His political platform emphasizes social justice, gender equality, and critical engagement with government policy.
