Born and raised in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, she pursued her education at SUNY Purchase College and earned her Juris Doctor from Pace University. Prior to her legislative career, she served as chief counsel to U.S. Congresswoman Yvette Clarke. Walker is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority and continues to reside in the Ocean Hill-Brownsville area.
