Lee Dong-seok is a South Korean politician and the 39th Mayor of Chungju, currently serving in his first term. Born in 1985, he holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master's degree in international politics from New York University. Before entering politics, he worked as a journalist for MBN, covering social and political affairs. He later served as a professional committee member for the 20th Presidential Transition Committee and as an administrator in the Office of the President under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. In 2026, he was elected as the Mayor of Chungju, becoming the youngest head of a local government in North Chungcheong province's history. He is a member of the People Power Party.
