Loer Kume

Loer Kume is an Albanian writer, essayist, and dentist born in Durrës on April 12, 1982. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Tirana with a degree in dentistry in 2005 and currently serves as a technical director at his own dental clinic in Durrës. Beyond his medical career, Kume is a prominent literary figure known for his short stories, novels, and essays, including the award-winning collection 'Amygdala Mandala', which earned him the Kadare Prize in 2019. His work often explores complex social phenomena and contemporary Albanian identity.
