İlyas Topsakal

İlyas Topsakal is a Turkish academic and politician currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly for the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) representing Samsun. Born in 1970 in İlkadım, Samsun, he pursued an extensive academic career, earning his doctorate from Marmara University in 2007 and completing post-doctoral studies at the University of Reading in 2010. A specialist in Siberian history, he attained the rank of professor in 2017 and served as Vice Rector of Istanbul University from 2019 to 2023. He was elected to the Turkish Parliament in the 2023 general elections.
