Μάριος Σαλμάς

Marios Salmas is a Greek politician, orthopedic surgeon, and academic who serves as an independent Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Aetolia-Acarnania. First elected in 2000 as a member of the New Democracy party, he previously held ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister of Health and Social Solidarity and Alternate Minister of Health. Beyond his political career, he is a professor of anatomy at the University of Athens and has served as a team physician for various national sports federations. In September 2024, he was expelled from the New Democracy parliamentary group following disagreements with the government's policies.
