Marko Liias

Marko Liias is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 21st district since 2014. Previously, he served in the Washington House of Representatives from 2008 to 2014 and on the Mukilteo City Council. A member of the Democratic Party, Liias is known for his advocacy on LGBTQ+ rights, including sponsoring legislation to support gender-affirming care for youth, and his work on animal welfare, such as legislation banning the use of wild animals in circuses. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.
