Mary Mushinsky

Mary Mushinsky is an American politician who has served as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 85th district since 1981. A long-standing figure in state politics, she is recognized for her extensive work in environmental conservation and policy. In 1990, while serving as chair of the Environment Committee, she introduced legislation that is widely considered the first bill in the United States to utilize the term "climate change." Throughout her tenure, she has held various leadership roles, including serving as a deputy speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives during the 2021–22 session.
