He represents the Tundi constituency in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, having been elected to the seat in 2005, 2009, and 2019. He previously served as the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms in the First Hemant Soren government and was the candidate for the Giridih constituency in the 2024 Indian general election.
