Matthew Ruby

Matthew Ruby is an American politician and military officer serving as a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives for the 40th district. Born and raised in Minot, North Dakota, he attended Minot State University where he studied history and elementary education. Ruby has a distinguished military background, having served as a staff sergeant and heavy equipment operator in the North Dakota Army National Guard since 2010, and previously working as a recruiter for the organization. In addition to his legislative and military service, he is the owner of 5R Construction. He was first elected to the state legislature in November 2016 and assumed office on December 1, 2016.
