Mehmet Ali Çelebi is a Turkish politician and former military officer currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly for Izmir. A graduate of the Turkish Military Academy, he served as a military helicopter pilot before his career was interrupted by the Ergenekon trials, during which he was imprisoned for 41 months before being acquitted. He entered politics through the Republican People's Party (CHP), later joined the Homeland Party, and eventually transitioned to the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in 2022. He currently serves on the National Defense Commission and the Artificial Intelligence Research Commission in the Turkish Parliament.
