Meinhard Durnwalder is an Italian politician of German-speaking South Tyrolean descent who currently serves as a member of the Senate of the Republic. Born in Brunico and raised in Falzes, he is a lawyer by profession and the nephew of former South Tyrol provincial president Luis Durnwalder. He began his political career in 2010 within the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), serving as a local councilor and assessor in Falzes. First elected to the Italian Senate in 2018 representing the Bressanone constituency, he was re-elected in 2022 and continues to hold a leadership role as a secretary of the Senate.
