Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf is a Mauritanian politician and engineer who currently serves as the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic. Born in 1957 in Néma, he holds a degree in chemical mineral engineering from the École Mohammadia and a doctorate in chemistry from the Université libre de Bruxelles. He previously served as the Prime Minister of Mauritania from 2008 to 2014 and held the position of Mauritanian Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels.
